With future cash ballot looming for A, it’s apt to “leave for Las Vegas leak” – San Francisco Chronicle

The Oakland Athletics are considered the worst team in Major League Baseball. As of Tuesday morning, they had lost twice as many games as they had won, scoring 25-50, and were 5-18 in June.

This does not mean that the A’s do not offer a lot of exciting drama. Just not in the field.

This week, another episode of A’s ongoing television series, “Departure (Maybe, Maybe, Maybe) to Las Vegas”, was dropped.

The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Committee is scheduled to vote Thursday, which will determine whether the committee approves A’s request to remove Howard Terminal’s 56-acre parcel from the port’s designation.

A “yes” vote would be a step towards opening the site for development.

A ‘No’ vote? Viva Las Vegas! This will remove Howard Terminal as a viable site to propose the development of the bloated playing field for A.

The Major League Baseball office, which likes nothing better than to interfere in civil affairs, is trying to take advantage of the voting commissioners with an undisguised threat.
